Collection: HANDWOVEN RUGS

Naji Raji is the artist & designer behind this beautiful selection of handwoven kilim rugs & the Sumak Home brand.

Naji has been exploring new materials in carpet weaving in Egypt since 2017, working with multiple interior designers, furniture stores and clients in Beirut. By the end of 2020, he moved to Egypt to be closer to work hand in hand with the artisans to produce the fair trade wool rugs.

The handwoven rugs are done in their own atelier in Cairo and while all the machine tufted are outsourced and produced with local artisans and makers. They use locally sourced Egyptian materials, cotton, wool, raffia.

His inspiration: architecture, art, nature and urban finds so each carpet can tell a personal story.
