Collection: CEMENT PLANTERS
Using concrete as the main ingredient, Danya Ahmed’s pots and planters are handmade by the artist herself, and shaped to mimic tree trunks and columns. The idea is for plant and planter to appear as if growing from and for the other, reminiscent of the city from which they are inspired, Beirut.
In 2012, Danya Ahmed gazed at Beirut’s urban landscape and saw an interesting contrast: construction dust covering the city air with sparse, yet stark, instances of greenery. The city became the mirror and muse for Danya’s craft.
